Kindly throw light on MK Gandhis efforts to reduce the death sentence awarded to the terrorists before the trio were hanged. It is known that MK Gandhi was averse to revolutionary activities and used to condemn them.
DR K Prabhakar rao sir M.K gandhi had made many efforts to save the trio it was not all about gandhi Irwin pact on 5 mach 1931.The conversation regarding the pact and the release of political prisioners 17 february 1931

Though in one of his rally on 31 jauary 1931 allhabad He stated that " the prisioners who have got death sentence from the british should not be hanged ,but this is my personal opinion it can not be one of the conditions of the pact"
though he did not make this ,as one ofthe conditions of the pact but he told that he will talk to viceroy personally.

while he was having conversation with viceory regarding that conversation he mentioned that this may not seem relevant to our conversation and not related to the pact , it is my personal point of view that after watching the present scenario of the country i think it would be better to suspend the hanging of bhagat singh and his freinds
he mentined that at least till karachi session of congress 26-31 march 1931
his view was also appreciated by Irwin and he gave gandhiji assurence that he will definately think about that and will do something but he did nothing .
AS a beliver of non violence gandhiji also condemn the idea of hanging of bhagat singh and freinds . 20 march 1931 he talked about this matter with home secretart herbertt emerson .
21 march 1931 Robert bernis wrote in news cronicle gandhi is late to attend the karachi session so that he can talk to viceroy reagading the hanging of trio. he met irwinon 21 march also on 22 march 1931 and apealed irwin regarding the same ,irwin again gave him false hope
on 23 march 1931 he wrote personal letter to viceroy Irwin and talked about the same thing that it can lead to unrest in counrty ,so gallows must be suspended and he should thougt about it again . but nothing happened and Bhagat singh ,sukhredev and rajguru were martyed a day before the decided date 24 march 1931 in the evening 7;33 p.m 23 march 1931
after the hanging also many statements came from mahatma gandhi one of them saying that i tried it at my best but was unable to save the brave youmg men
Many statements mentioned above may not be as accurate as they were said there canbe differencce in lanugauge but the idea is same. these are some of the evidences it can be corrected if something is inappropriate or not like that as it is mentioned .
